~ Elisabeth Elliot, A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael
Many who grew up in the church, including my wife and myself, will be familiar with the concept of doubt being the enemy of faith. Questions are often explicitly prohibited or implicitly silenced. This leads to people seeking answers on their own for fear that they would be seen as faithless for asking them. In turn this solo quest for answers often leads people away from the faith they grew up in. Ironically, the fear of people leaving the faith is what motivates this fear of questions.
We believe that questions are never detrimental to the faith. On the contrary, it is questions that make faith stronger. More accurately, it is the journey to answers that strengthen faith, because at the end of that journey we find God. That journey should never be taken alone. The community of faith can help guide us on that journey. Some may have wrestled with the same questions. Others may have perspectives that we never considered.
If you found this page because you have questions, know that you are welcome here. We believe that at the end of every journey for truth lies Jesus Christ who is the ultimate truth. John 8:31-32; John 14:6; John 18:37. If you do not believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior, you are welcome here too. Those who seek truth will find it. Deuteronomy 4:29; Proverbs 8:17; Jeremiah 29:13-14.
